5 Faves

Thanks to Meet Me at Mikes!

We have a puppy... she's very new and our most favourite thing! Little Pipsqueak - a miniature fox terrier. She has the loveliest nature and seems a very old soul.

I thought you might like to know her faves that we've discovered over the past two days:

1. Running around in the weedy grass in the lane
2. Gnawing slippers and thongs
3. Causing an explosion of newspaper
4. Cuddling up and sitting on knees
5. Much tail wagging!

I'll be at Yarraville Markets on Saturday! It will be my second time at the market - check this out to see what other old and new favourites might be there.

Triple R Cry Baby Music Session - Pikelet

I was lucky enough to attend the gig at the Triple R Performance Space this morning with my not so tiny baby. It was such a lovely idea and atmosphere and the music was beautiful for little ones! As soon as Pikelet started to play it was like magic - tiny little kids jumping up to dance and jig about everywhere. One of the most gorgeous experiences I've had at a gig in a long time. Thanks to 3RRR and supporters the Victoria Women’s Benevolent Trust and the Victorian Government through the Victoria Rocks program.

Pay it forward

I found this today at The Textured Leaf and decided it would be great fun to join in.

Here's what happens:

~I will make a handmade gift for the first 3 interested people who comment on this post.
~I have 365 days to do it in…
~What it will be and when it will arrive is a total surprise!

The catch is that you must participate as well:

~you must have a blog
~and before you leave your comment here, write up a pay it forward post on your blog to keep the fun going.

Just cut and paste this one if you like, which I did!

I can't wait to hear from the first three people who would like to join in!

5 Faves

With thanks to
Pip!
It's taken a few days to decide and I've stayed close to home.
Here are five of my favourite blue fabrics from my fabric stash:

A beautiful vintage print I found in an op shop more than ten years ago - if I could ever design a fabric as beautiful as this I would be ecstatic. I've always wanted to frame this as wall art.

A gorgeous Japanese synthetic kimono fabric from Kimoyes (a comparatively recent purchase that I will hopefully make into a window hanging one day.)

A vintage cotton Japanese fabric salvaged from an old tea house cushion and vintage floral cotton (forties or fifties?) from an op shop - I've made some lovely brooches from this one.

A stunning Liberty of London cotton print that I am lucky enough to own as a dress. This piece was purchased to make an obi to wear around the waist. (Hard to believe I actually ironed this - apologies for the crinkles! )

So many fabrics waiting for some attention. I'm pleased to say it looks like I'll finally have the time to sew some of them - yay!
